Dr. Pamela Colón
Education and Experience
Dr. Colón specializes in human health and nutrition, with an interest scope in research, specifically in the area of nutrition and its relation to metabolic diseases like hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes and obesity. She holds multiple research publications and is a member of the American Society for Nutrition with particular experience with bariatric surgery patients.
Pamela formerly worked at the New York Obesity Research Center in the City of New York in conjunct with Mount Sinai-St. Luke’s Hospital where she is currently a part of the clinical research team. She is a trained professional who holds profound dedication and interest in finding the balance between nutrition and health. Skilled in providing nutritional guidance and counseling, developing diets and weight loss programs, monitoring nutrition recommendations, assessing nutrition status and formulating nutrition care plans.
She initially obtained her Medical Doctor degree in The Dominican Republic and after moving to the United States, obtained her Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from Columbia University in the city of New York and also completed a Certificate program in Clinical Nutrition for Health Professionals through Columbia University Medical Center and the Institute of Human Nutrition.
